Rice Measurements

Uncooked and Cooked Rice

Here is a handy list of the amount of various types of uncooked rice and how much each makes after being cooked.
  • Brown Rice, 1 cup uncooked becomes 3 cups cooked
  • Long Grain Rice, 1 cup uncooked becomes 3 cups cooked
  • Minute Rice, 1/2 cup uncooked becomes 3/4 cup cooked
  • Packaged Precooked Rice, 1 cup uncooked becomes 2 cups cooked
  • Wild Rice, 1 cup uncooked becomes 3 to 4 cups cooked
