Tomato Preserve

From an
1897
cook book

Slice Green Tomatoes and allow
3/4 lb. of Sugar to 1 lb. of Tomatoes,
and 1 Lemon to 3 lbs. of Tomatoes.
Cut the Lemon in slices,
and put between layers of Tomatoes.
Add a little Ginger Root.
Cook until thick.
