War Cake

1 c. Molasses
1 c. Corn Syrup
1 1/2 c. boiling Water
2 c. Raisins
2 Tbsp. Fat
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Cloves
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
3 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Baking Powder
.
Boil first 9 ingredients.
Cool. Then add the Flour,
sifted with the Baking Soda,
and Baking Powder.
Mix well.
Drop into well greased loaf tins.
Bake for 45 minutes in a
moderately hot oven.

Makes 2 loaves.
