Banana Cake

1/2 c. Shortening
1 1/2 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
2 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
3/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 c. Sour Milk
1 c. Bananas, -{mashed (2 or 3)
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Cream, -{whipped and sweetened)
2 Bananas, -{sliced

Cream Shortening and add Sugar gradually.
Add the well beaten Eggs.
Sift Flour once before measuring.
Sift Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda,
and Salt together and add alternately with
the Sour Milk, and Bananas which have been
mashed through a seive.
Add Flavoring.
Pour intogreased and Floured
layer Cake tins,
Bake
.
When layers are cold, put together
with Whipped Cream and Sliced Bananas
for a filling, and spread Whipped Cream
on top of the Cake.
Lay slices of Bananas over the
top of the Whipped Cream on top of Cake.

Bake 30 minutes at 350 F.

(Yealds two 8 inch layers).
