Apple Pie without Apples

Put 10 large, square Soda Crackers in a bowl;
pour over them 1 Qt. of Boiling Water;
let them soak for 1 hour;
then mash them up very fine;
add to them the grated Peel and Juice of 4 Lemons,
and 5 teacups {=2 1/2 cups} of Brown Sugar;
mix well;
put it in Pastry and bake like any other Pie.
