Molasses, Raisin Cookies

1 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Baking Soda {in Water
1/2 tsp. Cloves
1/2 c. Shortening
2/3 c. Molasses
1 tsp. Cinnamon
2 1/2 c. Flour
2 c. Raisins
.

Mix all together thoroughly.
Drop from a spoon on a greased pan,
and bake in moderate oven.

Makes about 3 dozen large cookies.
