Brownies

An old Recipe;

1/2 c. Shortening

1 c. Sugar

2 squares unsweetened Chocolate

Some Hot Water

2 Eggs, -{separated

1 c. Flour

2 tsp. Baking Powder

1/2 c. Milk

.

Cream the Sugar, & Shortening.

Melt Chocolate and add.

Then add enough Hot Water to make a paste.

Sift together the Flour, & Baking Powder,

and add alternately the Milk.

Fold in stiffly beaten Egg Whites.

Bake for 25 minutes at 350

.

Frost with Chocolate Frosting,

and cut into squares.
