Crab Apple Pie

Do you have a lot of Crab Apples laying in your yard?

Don't crab about it... get rid of them.

It's as easy as Pie.

And you'll enjoy it!


Gather up about...

2 Qt. Crab Apples, -{about 1/2 of an ice cream pail

1 c. Sugar

1/2 c. Brown Sugar

1/4 c. Flour

2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

3 tsp. Butter

1/2 c. Water

Carefully peel, & cut up the Crab Apples into a bowl.
Mix the Brown Sugar, Flour, Ground Cinnamon, & Nutmeg
together, in another bowl.
When mixed together thoroughly,
add this dry ingredients to the Crab Apples.
Stir it in with the Crab Apples thoroughly.
Put this Apple mixture in a deep dish pie crust.
Place top crust on, and put a 2 inch long slit in the centre.
Bake;
at 425 for 10 minutes.
Then reduce heat to 350 ;
Bake for another 55 to 6o minutes...
or until Crab Apples are tender, &
Crust is a golden brown.
Meanwhile...
Boil the Water and White Sugar until it gets thick.
Take off the stove, and pour this Sugar Syrup into
the Pie, threw the slit in the top Crust.
Let it completely cool, before eating.
Serve with Whipped Cream,
or
Ice Cream.
