Snickerdoodles

Fun to say... to sniff... to eat!

Mix together thoroughly:
1 c. Shortening
1 1/2 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
`
Sift together & stir in:
2 3/4 c. Flour
2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
`
Chill dough:
Then roll into small balls, and roll them in the mixture below.

2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
`
Bake about 2 inches apart,
on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake until lightly browned ~ but still soft.

Note:
These cookies puff up at first, ~ then flatten out with crinkled tops.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 400
`
Kind of Hot?
Just don't burn them.
`
Makes about 60 cookies.....
But they won't last very long.
