TOMATO ONION Pickles

1 Peck ~(1/4 Bushel) ~ Green Tomatoes
12 Medium sized Onions
Slice thin and cook together until tender;
let drain in colander.
Return to kettle with.....
1 c. Vinegar
1 c. Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1 pinch Ground Cloves ~ (very little)
1 Medium Green Pepper ~ chopped fine
Pack in jars and seal.
If a hot Pickle is desired....
Cayenne, and Mustard may be added.
