SHORT CAKE THAT NEVER FAILS

Take not quite 1 quart of Flour, sift with this...
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1 level Tbsp. Sugar
then rub into this, 1/2 c. Butter
add 1 Egg well beaten with Salt and Milk to make 1 c.

Knead like biscuit dough; divide this... 2/3 for the bottom, & 1/3 for top;
spread Butter between the two layers and they come apart nicely.

Use any kind of Berries or Fruit.
